What is Kiwanis?
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
When does Kiwanis meet?
The Quincy Noon Kiwanis Club meets every Monday at noon for lunch at Tony’s Too in the new Holiday Inn (near 48th and Broadway).
What do you do at meetings?
Meetings open with the Kiwanis pledge, singing “God Bless America”, and a prayer. Then there’s an open meeting with announcements about upcoming events and projects followed by a speaker. The meeting concludes by 1 p.m.
How much does membership cost?
The Kiwanis fiscal year is from October 1 through September 30. Annual dues are $500 and billed quarterly. This includes International, District and local Kiwanis fees as well as lunch.
How do you join Kiwanis?
You’re invited to attend a meeting as a guest of a member. If you join, that member will be your sponsor. Or you may attend a meeting and meet the fine men and women who make up our Club and learn more about Kiwanis. You will receive a membership brochure and application.
How do you join?
Upon completion of the application form, approval of the Board of Directors and payment of fees, a fellow Kiwanian will schedule your induction ceremony. It’s a simple, dignified ceremony where you are welcomed to the
Kiwanis Club and receive a Kiwanis lapel pin to wear to meetings. There are no rituals.
What do you expect of new members?
We expect you to attend club meetings as
regularly as possible and participate in Kiwanis service projects and fund-raisers. You are also expected to serve as an active member of a committee. We do not require perfect attendance.
